LG Hom-Bot Square Robotic Vacuum With Mop Review

January 2, 2020 by Jennifer Melton Leave a Comment

Case form Hom-Bot Square significantly differs from most traditional round models.

Stylish housing has impressive vinous color.

Robot has an improved orientation system for fast and efficient cleaning, a good set of modes and functions and provides a high cleaning quality. Square shape slightly reduces passableness in narrow places. But the side brushes very effectively clean the corners and the floor near obstacles. A large working area of the microfiber provides effective wiping of smooth floors.

Advantages:

    • High cleaning quality;
    • Improved orientation system creates optimal trajectory during cleaning;
    • Two side brushes;
    • Convenient cleaning and removal of the dust collector;
    • Low housing without protruding parts is well suited for cleaning hard to reach places;
    • HEPA-filter;
    • Good sustainability of base;
    • Low noise level;
    • Ability to set of nozzle with microfiber;
    • Programming of daily cleaning at a specified time;
    • The cleaning mode until battery discharge;
    • Ability to turn off the voice alert.

Disadvantages

    • Robot sometimes moves the charging base;
    • A significant increase of noise level in Turbo mode;
    • Absence of a virtual wall.

Housing height is typical for this class of robots and equals of 91 mm. It weighs 6.4 lb. Speed during cleaning is 350 mm / sec.

Robot overcomes obstacles with height up to 15 mm. But fabric microfiber reduces this value to 5 mm.

Width of model is 339 mm, length – 345 mm, and the diagonal – 373 mm. I.e. diagonal of robot substantially greater compared to its length and width. This reduces the passability in narrow places.

Axles of driving wheels are located on the line that divides the housing approximately in half. Such kinematics provides optimum turning on the spot.

Relatively small height, smooth housing on perimeter and the lack of protruding parts provide the very good maneuverability of robot.

Main brush is located in front of housing.

Rubber scraper on sprung frame helps to collect debris from the floor. Two front brushes provide displacement of debris in direction of main brush.

Model is not intended for use on wet surfaces. Contact with the water can damage the device.

Model has several basic modes of cleaning.

1. Zigzag- Robot moves along the zigzag trajectory.

2. Cell- Vacuum cleaner divides the space into equal squares (about 3 × 3 sq. m) and performs a cleaning within each of the squares.

3. Spot- Mode is intended for intensive cleaning a certain zone. Robot moves in a spiral.

4. Manual mode- Manual control is carried out with the remote control.

But robot moves in this mode only in the case of pressing the buttons. This is sometimes inconvenient.

Turbo mode is available for all major modes. It provides an increase of cleaning intensity.

First two automatic modes additionally support the Repeat function that is intended for cleaning without charging even at low battery.

The vacuum cleaner automatically continues the cleaning after battery charge from the breakpoint.

Robot also restores orientation after its forced displacement during cleaning, if the distance is less than 1 meter.

Model is programmable for automatically cleaning at the set time.

Charging station has built-in power supply.

Its bottom part with three ribbed platforms of a resilient plastic provides reliable steadiness.

Robot cleans relatively quiet. Therefore, it can be used at night time with shutdown of sound alert. Noise level increases significantly in Turbo mode.
