The Comet CM-C08CD shredder is a high quality and library quiet, 8-sheet crosscut shredder. It is a good paper shredder for home or small office use. The CM-C08CD is a light-duty shredder that is 17.72”H x 7.87”W x 16.34”D, and weighs 17.6 lbs. The CM-M08CD has an 8.66” wide paper slot and a 4.92” slot for shredding CDs/DVDs and credit cards. The paper slot can accept letter and legal-size documents. It has a quiet motor (58 db) that dampens grinding and shredding noise when the shredder is operated. The shredder can be run for 5 minutes followed by a 45 minute cool-down period. The shredder will automatically shut down and the overheat light will illuminate if shredding exceeds the unit’s maximum operating time. The unit can afterward by reset by cycling the on/off switch.
