A quality pound cake pan is something that will be with you for a very long time and passed on to the next generations of bakers in your life. Pound cakes will never go out of style and will always be delicious so you can expect that your cake pan will get lots of use in its life. In this post I want to show you the different options in pound cake pans as well as where to buy them at great prices.
The most common pound cake pan is the normal bundt pan. These have worked great for years, but even the nonstick type still relentlessly stick. In order to prevent this, you have to liberally use a good cooking spray. Butter will never get into all of the details and designs that are on a pound cake pan. If you have intricate design on your pan it’s a good idea to follow the cooking spray with a thin layer of flour to help make the pattern stand out better.
Springform pound cake pans are sweet, plain and simple! After I got on of these I gave all of my old pound cake pans to my kids! There are even springform pans that have interchangeable designs on the top so you can get multiple cake designs from a single pan (picture below).
You can also use these cake pans for coffee cake and crumb cake.
