Using stainless steel cake pans in your kitchen will give it a very professional and restaurant feel. Most restaurants and bakeries won’t use aluminum cake pans like we do at home because it won’t stand up to the repeated abuse that they deliver and it doesn’t clean up as well. Almost all of the traditional shapes of cake pans are available in a stainless steel form, but don’t expect to come across Spongebob or Boba Fett!
The thing to consider when looking at a stainless steel cake pan is its price. Some stainless pans are going to cost a fortune, which is not the price that restaurants pay for them! There are some companies that feel like they can charge an arm and a leg to consumers and a far different price to institutions. I want you to know that you shouldn’t pay forty bucks for a stainless steel cake pan, and I’ll show you where to get it cheap!
If you know someone who owns/manages a local restaurant you may be able to get a better deal without me. Small restaurants will usually have accounts with their local restaurant supply store that will have aisles and aisles of these cake pans. Unfortunately, most of these places won’t allow you to shop there without an account so ask your friend if you can tag along the next time they go. Most restaurant supply stores don’t list prices for anything on their shelves, rather they have a negotiated price with the restaurant for what they pay.
Fear not if you don’t have restaurateur friends, there are other options.
