Building up your collection of bake pans cake be a costly affair. Some of the high-end baking pans can cost upwards of $50 and when you factor in all of the pans that you really “need” (beehive cake pan?!) you can be looking at thousands of dollars spent on completing your kitchen. This is why it’s important to take a little extra time to see what good deals you can find on the pans that you want (need).
It used to be that we could get cheap cake pans right at our local grocery store. Unfortunately, baking lost some of its popularity, and those easily accessible pans went the way of the dinosaur. Now, we have to resort to specialty stores and the internet.
Finding bake pans in a store is very hit or miss, and the only way you’re going to save any money is if you get them on clearance. Just last week, I found the dinosaur mini cake pan by Nordic Ware at Target for only $15! Nearly all of the time that you find bake pans in a store you can expect to pay full price, or more.
If you happen to live in a large city that has tons of restaurants, there is probably a restaurant supply store that might have the bake pan that you want at a good price. Some of these places will only let you shop there if you’re associated with a restaurant, so you may need to lean on your “connections” to shop this way.
Online is a whole different story. Here, you can find cheap bake pans everywhere. Most of the pans that I’ve bought in the last 10 years have come from online stores, and I’ve always had the best luck with E-commerce
It is the place to get the absolute best price on a bake pan. Vendors are very cut throat with their pricing, which means that you can get some steals.
