One of the stand mixers that I looked at before making my final decision was the KitchenAid k4ss. This mixer is a great place to start if you only plan on using your stand mixer occasionally because it is a bit smaller and less expensive than the other KitchenAid mixers on the market.
This isn’t to say that this isn’t a wonderful machine! It still has plenty of power and can make batches of whatever you need in its 4-1/2 quart mixing bowl that locks securely to the base.

What’s the Wattage of the KitchenAid Classic Mixer?
The KitchenAid Classic Mixer comes equipped with a 250-watt motor. This will give you plenty of power to mix almost anything you can need it for.
The motor on the KitchenAid k45ss is ready to handle the mixing of cookie dough, any type of cake batter, pizza dough, and many others. However, I don’t recommend mixing bread dough regularly.
The Multiple Speeds of the KitchenAid Classic Mixer
There are 10 speeds to choose from while using your KitchenAid Classic. Allowing you to select the perfect speed for whatever task you have at hand! If you need a Highly functional KitchenAid Mixer you can review this Kitchenaid KSM7586P
Slower speeds are ideal for beating almost any cake or flour recipe, while the faster speeds excel at whipping egg whites or ingredients for meringues or creams.
Tip: While a splash guard will help minimize the mess, it will not catch everything. I have found that it works best to add dry ingredients such as flour or sugar while the mixer is not running. Adding liquid ingredients is secure while the machine is running, but I only add those at slow speeds. I prefer to err on the side of caution rather than cleaning up a mess later!
Easy Access and Cleaning With the Kitchenaid K45ss
The tilt-up head on the KitchenAid Classic Mixer makes clean up of the bowl and appliance easy and convenient by giving you easy access to all of its exposed surfaces.
Is the KitchenAid K45SS Large Enough for Your Needs?
The mixing bowl of the KitchenAid Classic is 4 ½ quarts, which is large enough to hold 8 cups of the flower. This is enough to mix two loaves of bread or up to 190 cookies.
The unit itself measures 14 inches high by 14 inches long by 9 inches wide. It is solidly built and is the type of mixer that you will want to clear a space for on your countertop to make it a permanent feature of your kitchen.

What Other Consumers Are Saying About the KitchenAid Classic Mixer
“Even novice cooks will find it’s used enjoyable, and it will inspire you to explore new things that you probably didn’t do before because of the time and effort involved.” – Review Shortened – Click Here to Read the more Review
“In the past years, I’ve used my mother’s old stand-mixer, and I’ve also used a hand mixer, which is near impossible to douse on some recipes. This year, I used my new KitchenAid Classic Mixer, and I am blown away!” –
Cons of the KitchenAid Classic Mixer
The only real disadvantage that I could find to the k45ss mixer is that it is not ideal for making bread dough on a regular basis – If you want to make bread go with a Bread Machine such as the Zojirushi Bread Machine or Panasonic Bread Maker.
If you need something with more power for more strenuous mixing but still need a stand mixer, I would suggest either the KitchenAid Artisan or the KitchenAid Professional.
Who the KitchenAid Classic K45ss is for
I consider the KitchenAid k45ss to be a wonderful introductory stand mixer. Personally, I don’t use my stand mixer for mixing bread dough very often. I do use it for mixing pizza dough and haven’t had any problems with my
KitchenAid Artisan Stand Mixer (the model one step up from the KitchenAid Classic Mixer). This mixer is for you if:
It would help if you had a stand mixer for light usage.
You are investing in your first stand mixer and are unsure of spending too much money.
Home chefs who enjoy making cookies, cakes, mashed potatoes, and other recipes regularly.
If you’re looking for an easy to use stand mixer.
