If it is time to buy new patio furniture cushions, then the main thing to choose is the color as that can make so much difference to your garden. Whereas one color will go well with your outdoor furniture ( i.e. lawn folding chairs ) and lift your garden, another will make your patio look dull or clash with your color scheme.
For example, if you choose red patio cushions and you have dark green PVC garden furniture, you will find that the colors do not go well at all. Although red is a nice bright color, which you could expect to brighten your day, you will find yourself annoyed about the clashing colors whenever you look at your patio. If you have white furniture on the other hand, or natural wicker or teak, red cushions will look fantastic and your patio will compete with the brightest summer flowers. Red stands out and has impact, so be sure that your outdoor furniture is ready for scrutiny!
If you choose natural outdoor patio cushions, your garden furniture and patio will get less attention as the cushions have less impact. That means they are not the color to choose if you want your seating area to be the main focal point of your garden, unless your furniture is so amazing that it attracts plenty of attention on its own. Natural cushions also do not work well with white PVC or resin furniture. They are better with other natural materials such as wood.
In some ways, you are better choosing neither natural nor red cushions, at least not the plain variety, because a pattern is often more attractive and it also hides any stains or marks better. For example, your dark green garden furniture will look fine with natural outdoor cushions but it would look even better with a green and natural bold stripe and, even where red works as a color, a red paisley pattern for your cushions will disguise the marks from sticky sun oil smears whereas a plain red cushion will show every mark.
