On The Oster Toaster Oven

January 17, 2020 by Jennifer Melton Leave a Comment

I notice that it happens far too often in a small kitchen that the oven gets used to capacity while there is still more food to be cooked or reheated, especially when guests are on their way. An Oster toaster oven solves this problem quickly. Any of the full size (6 slices) Oster toaster ovens nicely fit casseroles, cakes, and even small pizzas. With efficient options for bake, broil, toast, and warming, you can do almost any oven function in one of these.

An Oster convection toaster oven includes a convection fan that automatically engages when you select the “bake,” and remains off for toast, broil, and keep warm. This is what offers the greater versatility and quality performance that you’re looking for in a maximum function toaster.

The Oster toaster oven 6248 is their original digital model. A convection oven with full touchpad controls, an LED screen that is easy to read, countdown timer, and automatically shut off. Its auto-advancing oven rack slides forward when you open the door if the frame is in the lower position, making safe food removal that much easier. Nonstick interior and front-access crumb tray turn cleaning this oven into a breeze. For about $70, you get a great deal.

If you’re looking for an even larger model, consider the Oster toaster oven 6058. This digital convection toaster oven will bake a 12-inch pizza beautifully and quickly. It has all the features of 6248, only with more space. Be prepared to invest another $20 for its size.

For a little less money, you can get the Oster toaster oven 6293, about $60. Its stainless steel version is about $20 more than that. It’s a little slower than the 6248; toasting 6 slices takes 6 to 7 minutes for the first batch as opposed to 5. It is a little bit larger, fitting even a 12-inch pizza. It is also a convection model, making even baking enjoyable and quick.

The Oster toaster oven 6297 is virtually the same as the 6293, but more expensive; it comes in the stainless steel design only. If you were set on a red oven, go for the previous model.

Every model should include the necessary Oster toaster oven parts: the oven itself, a crumb tray, one or two reversible wire racks, and a baking/broiling pan. The fancy Oster toaster oven accessories like touchpads, convention fan, or an auto-advancing rack are limited to only specific models.

You can read Oster toaster oven reviews yourself, but they are generally very positive. Relatively quick-cooking, even cooking, safety, and convenience are the common praises. You’ll use it morning, afternoon, and night. Quality performance just can’t be resisted.
